I wanted to write to say thanks for the excellent service I received recently from Travel Consultant Ruwanthi Warnasuriya from your Edmonton office. I’m an experience, long-time travel writer, who has written extensively for EnRoute Magazine, as well as Experience, Bombardier and Fairmont Magazines. I’ve dealt with a lot of travel consultants in my time and this experience was exceptional.
As you know, Air Canada’s wildcat strike left a lot of us stranded in various places. I happened to be in Edmonton on a trip to visit the University of Alberta, tickets for which Ms Warnasuriya arranged. As the news of the strike and delays broke, she immediately began trying to find alternate travel arrangements for me, including exploring the possibility of a car rental. In the end, it was because of her efforts that I was able to get a flight Sunday morning, a day earlier than Air Canada otherwise was able to offer. Despite the tensions of the moment, and the fact that I was impatient, Ms Warnasuriya was remarkably calm and helpful. I think it’s a real credit to your company that service of that kind was extended under those circumstances.
